How to Claim EVMOS Airdrop Easy!

How to Claim EVMOS Airdrop Easy!
Check to see if you're eligible for this airdrop!

Another day, another airdrop!

It's great to be in the Crypto ecosystem because we're given opportunities to claim tokens that have real monetary value which we can then convert into our favorite crypto!

This EVMOS airdrop was for Ethereum users who've spent lot's of Ethereum to transact on the Ethereum blockchain. In this article we will be using both Ethereum and Cosmos blockchains.

Once again, thank you to the EVMOS team for their fantastic airdrop opportunity!

Let's get started with this step by step guide to get you your free money from the EVMOS rektdrop!

  1. Go to https://app.evmos.org/ and connect your wallet to see if you're eligible to claim your EVMOS tokens.

You will be shown this screen below:

Example of EVMOS claim screen.

Once, your on this screen click "claim".

2. Follow the airdrop claim steps.

Add EVMOS to your wallet by going to chainlist searching for "EVMOS" and clicking add to Metamask.

These next steps involve staking EVMOS, doing a transaction on the EVMOS blockchain, voting on an EVMOS governance issue.

Vote on ATLEAST (1) governance proposal and your first batch of tokens will unlock. Next, will require you to stake some EVMOS tokens.

By the way, can we appreciate the fact that the EVMOS team actually wants you to complete a few processes before giving you the money? This is important not only for developers, but also for users to get to understand the chain.

Staking EVMOS, when you choose a validator choose anyone doesn't matter, but when deciding how much you want to stake just make sure the amount is greater than 0.10 EVMOS due to transaction costs. No need to stake more than 0.10 EVMOS. Once this is completed you will unlock your next 25% of tokens!

Finally, to unlock your last remaining tokens, go to Diffusion app (basically a Uniswap fork on the EVMOS blockchain) and do a simple swap. For example, just do .01 EVMOS to USDC and once it's completed it will unlock your final amount of available tokens.

Also, check if you are eligible for the Diffusion airdrop by clicking the top right corner claim section. It was given to users that used Uniswap, but I will let you know that I've used Uniswap plenty of times and was ineligible.

The EVMOS blockchain at the time of writing is quite slow so transactions may take like 5-10 minutes, but it will process.

3. Convert, keep, or move your EVMOS tokens.

This step is entirely up to you. You can do as wish with these tokens because it's an airdrop. Many people I've talked to bridged them to other blockchains using inter blockchain communication bridges like Hop Protocol, Connext, or Multichain.

These IBC bridges make it easy for users to move to different chains. Whether you're a user or developer these are extremely important to our blockchain future.

4. Moving from Cosmos Ecosystem to other chains.

Like I mentioned in step 3, you can go ahead and choose what you want to do. In this step I will explain how to move to an L2 or other blockchain.

To recover tokens on another blockchain go to the Connext app and choose your token you want to move and the amount.

Next choose the chain you want to try like Arbitrum, Polygon, Gnosis etc...

Finally, you will have to sign a simple transaction the tokens will start to move. Make sure that if you choose to move to any other chain to check the fees, for example it can be quite expensive if you choose to move to Ethereum main chain.

5. Simple cheap path to Arbitrum.

If you like Arbitrum similar to me, then you want to move your tokens over.

The cheapest way to do this is like I mentioned before, by moving from

EVMOS -> Connext -> Gnosis(xDai) -> Hop Protocol -> Arbitrum

Yes, I know it's quite a few steps, but hey, it's free money, right?

Also, who knows you may be eligible for the Hop Protocol potential airdrop!

6. Now that you've moved your coins to your preferred chain you can now go ahead and try different platforms. If you did choose Arbitrum, consider trying GMX the premier leverage trading platform on Arbitrum. Or better yet, check out my video that explains $GMX.

$GMX explained.

Once again, if Arbitrum does end up doing an airdrop, which seems likely because Optimism just announced their OP token, then you're going to have even more money!

Be sure to thank all Ethereum developers, actually all developers because we're all set on the goal for total decentralization.

Why it's good to try different Blockchains:

Receiving airdrops are cool, but once again you're ahead of all the people who follow crypto. You really think analyst at banks or other financial institutions are going through and using new chains? No way...

I remember reading a report from a large bank where the analyst claimed that USDC is a good investment...

Spoiler alert, USDC is a stable coin and is supposed to always equal $1 USD.

What's even better is that we are the ones who benefit the most, because we have the information to get ahead of any analyst. Being able to read a blockchain and transactions is becoming more important than ever. Especially, with the influx of new crypto users.

How many of us tried to convince our friends/family that blockchain is the future? I'm sure all of us have, but it's hard for someone new understand smart contract processes.

Hopefully this article helps you out, as someone who is passionate about crypto it's one of ways I can contribute to help grow our ecosystem.

When I started in Crypto I remember trying to recover my BTC wallet and I had to sync the entire chain! Took too long, especially with slow internet.

However, these EVM compatible chains similar to the Cosmos Hub have been excellent! Sure, they make take a few minutes, but they work!
